We Teach The Future As We Do The Past

As an established discipline in major universities and businesses around the world, don’t you think it’s time to teach the future in secondary schools and colleges?

How Can You Help?

We need support to make futures studies a reality. Join the community, share your futures experience, support our efforts financially and open discussions on futures thinking whenever you have the chance.

Support the Initiative

We see an education system that teaches futures thinking to secondary and college students as a routine subject. Our goal is to provide support and resources to at least 1,000 educators actively teaching futures thinking in their classrooms.

Educators - Teach the Future Now

Educators are the critical component of Teach the Future. We need teachers actively teaching the future and sharing their experiences. Our curriculum materials will be maintained under Creative Commons license, and made available for free so that others can actively teach the future in their classes.

Support the Initiative

We are dedicated to establishing futures thinking in schools, teaching the future as we do History, English, Science and Math. We need to develop course materials to do so. Teach the Future is raising funds to support the work of teachers this summer, to develop lesson plans to be used in classrooms everywhere. This course work will be shared with others to foster the application of futures studies in secondary school and colleges around the world. Your donations will directly support the efforts of these educators, teachers teaching the future. Together we can change the future. Together we can teach the future like we do the past.

We need your help

Join Teach the Future and donate today.

Teachers need materials to teach the future.  They were not taught how to do this while they were in school.  In fact, none of us were.

So our primary strategy is to pay teachers a modest stipend to develop effective and easy-to-use teaching materials and to put them into other teachers’ hands as a free download.  We just completed a successful fundraising campaign, and your contribution will allow us to develop even more.  $100 buys us a new learning activity; $250 a new lesson of 1-2 days, and $350 a whole new unit.

As a token of our appreciation, we will send you some great Teach the Future material – lapel pins, decals, calendars and books.  If you donate $500 or more, we will coach you or a teacher you designate on how to include futures thinking into their teaching.
